PPF's Current Projects

Moving On

Moving On runs workshops, open sessions and training on lots of subjects, from being a good flatmate to cooking with leftovers, and from household budgeting to learning to relax. We focus on getting closer to employment, and living more independently. But it’s all about building confidence and skills, and everything is run in a relaxed way, with you deciding what’s important for you to learn. And we’re big fans of the outdoors!

We can also run courses for other organisations.

Wellbeing Group

This new group is more focused on Wellbeing.

As always, there is time to chat and discuss what challenges we face in our everyday lives. We learn techniques which we can use to manage our stress and mental health such as basic yoga and deep breathing. We still include craft and other fun activities! In 2023 we will be working with the Health Action Team to talk about issues that can affect our lives.

Gaming Club

LD Gaming Group

Gaming club is meeting face-to-face again! After a long time of only meeting up online, we are now holding face-to-face sessions every fortnight in the Haverhub. Sessions cost £3 and are from 1pm-3pm. Feeling shy? We still have our online sessions running every other week on Zoom from 12-1pm.

Contact Jon M at PPF or join our Facebook group PPF Gaming Club for more details!

Stay Social

Stay Social is for everyone! We meet every Thursday lunchtime, eat a meal together and do loads of things from games to badminton, Karaoke to Boccia. It’s really friendly, and we get involved with people who design services for adults with learning disabilities or autism– we are the experts and need things to work for us.

Entry: £1.

Optional lunch: £1

Optional raffle: £1

Campaigning

Our Campaigns Group works on topics like health and employment, and tries to influence decisions and change policies that aren’t working. We meet with politicians and make sure they take our views into account. If you like politics, this is the place for you!

Coaching

If you are struggling emotionally and feel like you could use some extra support, we provide 1:1 coaching sessions focusing on emotional resilience.
