Below is a list of the services that our local pharmacies can now offer:<\/span><\/p>

Common Ailments <\/strong>\u2013 Allows free advice & treatment for up to 27 common ailments <\/span><\/p>

Emergency Supply<\/strong>– Enables a pharmacist to supply urgently required repeat medication to patients if they are unable to obtain a prescription before they need to take their next dose. Exclusions apply.<\/span><\/p>

Emergency Hormonal Contraception (EHC) – <\/strong>The morning after pill is available free of charge if supply is deemed appropriate following a consultation with an accredited pharmacist.<\/span><\/p>

SCL2 – Smoking Cessation Level 2 – <\/strong>Supply of Nictotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) products for patients who are attending a Stop Smoking Wales or Hospital Smoke Free clinic for behavioural support<\/span><\/p>

SCL3 – Smoking Cessation Level 3 – <\/strong>Supply of NRT products & 1:1 behavioural support (complete service at community pharmacy)<\/span><\/p>

\u00a0Just in Case Scheme – <\/strong>Supply of palliative care medication for patients whose medical condition may deteriorate into the terminal phase of illness on receipt of prescription by a GP<\/span><\/p>

\u00a0<\/strong>Patients Sharps <\/strong>– Allows patients who use sharps with their medication (e.g. diabetics) to return 1L sharps bins to pharmacies for disposal.<\/span><\/p>

Triage & Treat – <\/strong>Service provided at certain pharmacies for low level injuries e.g. minor burns, minor wounds, foreign bodies<\/span><\/p>

\u00a0<\/strong>Palliative Care Drugs – <\/strong>Pharmacy holds stock of specific palliative care drugs for Out of Hours, District Nurses, Acute response Team (ART), etc<\/span><\/p>

Respiratory MUR+ <\/strong>– Allows a trained pharmacist\/technician to check if patient is using their inhaler correctly<\/span><\/p>

MURs (Medicine Use Review) <\/strong>– Pharmacist can discuss with\/advise patients regarding their medication to ensure they understand what they are taking & possible side-effects.<\/span><\/p>
