Community Physiotherapy

We are a Team of Physiotherapists, and Physiotherapy Support Workers who work with people who have physical, neurological and functional difficulties or problems. We work closely with GPs, specialist nurses, podiatrists, Occupational therapists, social workers, medical consultants, carers and re-ablement. We work with people in their own homes, the community or in our rehabilitation centre in Priory Day Hospital at Glangwili General Hospital site.
Physiotherapy is an active and interactive service which relies on the hard work and effort of the person receiving input and often their family, friends and carers. For best results the advice and input received should be continued long-term and can include accessing things like exercise classes (NERS).

The Community Physiotherapy service is part of a Physiotherapy service which provides many specialist services to the 3T’s community:

  • Community Physiotherapy, input which needs to be home / community based, or is of a neurological nature.
  • Outpatient MSK Physiotherapy, clinic based input for musculo-skeletal problem (muscles / bones / tendons etc).
  • Stroke, outreach service for 6 weeks after stroke.
  • Lymphodema, specialist service for people with lymphedema.
  • Pulmonary / Cardiac rehabilitation, helping people manage conditions such as COPD and cardiac conditions.
  • Complex brain injury service, highly specialist input and advice.
  • Frailty clinics / MDTs, helping people age well.
